Onalaska Education Foundation Board of Directors set Acts of Kindness (AOK) budget for the 2016-2017 School Year

We are pleased to announce that the OEF has set the Acts of Kindness (AOK) budget for the 2016-2017 school year.  Acts of Kindness was established in 2012, as the board recognized that often students faced material issues that impact their ability to flourish academically.  Each public and private school in Onalaska has a carefully administered fund set up through AOK to help with these needs.  This enables the schools to quickly help children in need.

Strict guidelines are in place for the use of these funds.  In the past these funds have been used to fund school supplies, socks and gym shoes, coats, hats gloves and sweatshirts.  Funds have also been used to purchase alarm clocks, AP tests, tech class fees, ACT score reports and to help children obtain the necessary documentation to get a work permit.  The AOK program has touched the lives of many children by providing for these essential needs, which in turn encourages students to focus on academic achievement.

The AOK program every year has been funded in large part by a very caring, generous anonymous donor.   Additional fund raising efforts are through the OEF.  Please help support this year’s board in their fundraising efforts, and donations are always welcome.  For more information about the Onalaska Education Foundation please go to www.oef.wpengine.com, or find us on Facebook.
